WNBA BRAWL!!!

Yea you're reading this title correct. Tuesday night the LA Sparks and Detroit Shock were playing a regular season game. How ironic that it was in Detroit.   After a free throw by a Shock player, Candace Parker, rookie for the Sparks, was running down the court when she got pulled down by Planette Pierson of the Shock.  While Parker was trying to get up, Pierson walked over and intentionally bumped her back down.  Parker threw a punch at Pierson and then was tackled by another player from the Shock. Lisa Leslie came over to try and help her teammate up when both teams, amped up, broke out into an all out brawl that included coaches! An assistant coach for the Shock actually knocked Leslie down, whether it was accidental or not, we still don't know but it's pretty hard to accidentally knock down a 6 foot 10 inch female basketball player.  The Sparks eventually won the game 84-81 but many players were ejected.  All I know is that the Shock players need to go take fighting lessons from their brothers, the Pistons.

NFL TRAINING CAMP OPENING UP THIS WEEK

So on the brink of a lot of exciting things happening in the world, training camp opens up around the NFL this week and with a few personal connections from players I will definitely have the inside scoop on whats going on with multiple teams.  Although most teams don't open up camp until this Thursday, one team that has started early is the San Diego Chargers.  I must say I am definitely an LT fan with his fine self ;) but just after two days of camp players are ready for it to be over.  Antwan Applewhite is a linebacker for the Chargers and although he is headed into his second year in the league he still says "Camp is no joke, the heat and 5:45 am workouts suck already and it's only the second day."  I mean I hate walking to my car in 90 degree heat so I feel for all our brothers out there working out in it, twice a day! The Chargers will open up preseason play August 9th against the Cowboys.
